Farrier on the Move is a project I started in 2022. I was looking for a subject that has remained almost unchanged in a society that that has been anything but unchanged. Living in horse country I had heard from my daughter about farriers and their role. After a little research I recached out Aaron Edelson who allowed me to follow him around as he traveled from barn to barn shoeing horses, engaging with Barn Managers and horse owners from all walks of life. I was soon witness to the farrier process that has gone nearly unchanged over many years, and in terms of Aaron and his work since the Civil War when the mobile farrier was first introduced.
